Storage Colney Hatch Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Storage Colney Hatch in line with our commitment to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct and human rights. It sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our own operations and in our supply chains.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Storage Colney Hatch has a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, debt bondage, servitude and child labour. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships, and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place within our operations or any of our supply chains.
All employees, contractors and business partners are expected to share this commitment. We will not knowingly work with any organisation that is involved in, or fails to take adequate steps to prevent, modern slavery or human trafficking.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Storage Colney Hatch provides storage and related services to individuals and businesses. Our supply chains include providers of facilities management, security, cleaning, maintenance, equipment, packaging materials, IT services and professional services.
We recognise that certain sectors and geographies can present higher risks of modern slavery. We are working to identify these risks within our supply chains and to implement proportionate measures to mitigate them.
Supplier Standards and Due Diligence
We are committed to working only with suppliers who uphold lawful and ethical employment practices. As part of our due diligence processes, we assess new key suppliers for their approach to labour standards, health and safety, and human rights. Where appropriate, we seek assurances that suppliers comply with applicable labour laws and demonstrate a commitment to preventing modern slavery.
Our contractual arrangements with key suppliers increasingly include provisions requiring compliance with modern slavery legislation and our zero-tolerance stance. We reserve the right to terminate relationships with suppliers who fail to meet our standards or who cannot evidence meaningful progress towards compliance.
Supplier Audits and Monitoring
To strengthen our oversight, we are implementing a programme of risk-based supplier audits and reviews. Higher-risk suppliers may be subject to more detailed questioning, requests for documentation, or site visits where appropriate and feasible. The purpose of these activities is to verify that working conditions are lawful, safe and respectful, and that no indicators of forced or coerced labour are present.
Where we identify concerns, we will work collaboratively with suppliers to address them through corrective action plans and follow-up monitoring. If issues are not resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner, we will consider suspending or ending the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Storage Colney Hatch encourages employees, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to report any concerns relating to modern slavery or human trafficking in our operations or supply chains. Concerns may be raised through internal management channels or via any established whistleblowing routes made available by the company.
All reports will be treated seriously and handled sensitively. We will investigate concerns promptly and, where appropriate, take remedial action. We will not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith.
Training and Awareness
We are working to increase awareness of modern slavery risks among our employees, particularly those involved in procurement, facilities management and supplier relationships. Training and guidance are designed to help staff recognise warning signs of modern slavery and understand how to escalate concerns. We expect our managers to promote a culture of openness, integrity and responsibility.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Storage Colney Hatch recognises that preventing modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We are committed to continually improving our policies, procedures and practices in response to evolving risks, legal developments and best practice guidance.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed, evaluated and updated on an annual basis by senior management. The review will consider the effectiveness of our actions, findings from supplier audits, any reported incidents, and feedback from stakeholders. Where necessary, we will set new objectives to enhance our approach and strengthen protections against modern slavery in our operations and supply chains.
This statement has been approved by the leadership of Storage Colney Hatch and represents our current position on the prevention of modern slavery and human trafficking.
